One of our absolute favorite hot drink treats in the world must be Chai Latte! Perfect on a cold day and especially a great option if you want to avoid the caffeine from coffee, but don’t feel like having tea either. We try Chai Latte everywhere we go. But here’s the thing, it’s not that hard to make this comforting drink at home and here is a recipe that surely won’t disappoint!
List of Ingredients for the Chai Latte:
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Almond Milk (unsweetened)
- 1 Tbsp Loose Black Tea or 2 Teabags
- ¼ tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ginger Powder
- 1 pinch of ground Black Pepper
- 1 pinch of Nutmeg
- 1 Cardamom Pod
- 3 Cloves
- 1 Star Anis
- Honey or Agave Syrup to taste
How To Make:
Add Water, Almond Milk, Tea and Spices to a sauce pan, bring to a boil, take of heat and let simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add sweetener of choice and warm up for about 3 minutes. Make sure it doesn’t boil! Pour the liquid over a fine strainer into your mug of choice and enjoy!
P.S. If you’d like some creamy froth on top of your Chai Latte, use a milk frother or standing blender to get some air in ½ cup of warmed up Almond Milk or maybe some whipped cream as a less healthy but delicious option….
