We enjoy coming up with new recipes for our smoothies, but draw inspiration from everything we read or come across during travels. More importantly and so very much appreciated, friends and family bring us the coolest ideas. Our friend & TFE fan from the very beginning, Kirsten has this go-to smoothie recipe and it’s amazing! The Kirsten’s Special is an ideal smoothie for breakfast as it will keep you going until lunchtime. Ginger and banana make such good partners! Thank you Kirsten for this great recipe!

List of Ingredients:

  • 1 Banana
  • 2 small stalks of Celery
  • 1 Clementine
  • 1 cup of (soy) Yoghurt
  • ½ cup of Orange Juice
  • small piece of Ginger (peeled)

Tip: If you would like to make your Kirsten’s Special a bit sweeter, replace the clementine with a fresh fig!

Kirsten’s Special Smoothie Song: U2 – Every Breaking Wave

If you’re in the possession of anything Apple, you have probably already listened to U2’s latest album, Songs of Innocence, as the band in collaboration with Apple did a huge digital release exclusively to the ITunes Store last September. When you have been around for such a long time, (this is their 13th studio album!) you gotta keep on innovating yourself right? Their trademark sound is still there for sure and the album is everything we expected. Every Breaking Wave is the track we selected to get your week started full of energy! Plus, the acoustic version of this song is just as beautiful.
