“I believe that water is the only drink for a wise man.” ~ Henry David Thoreau
Temperatures are rising and it’s more important than ever to keep yourself hydrated. Water is the quickest go-to liquid to turn to and the ultimate thirst quencher, but sometimes you crave just that little extra flavor.
So why not spice it up a little and make a water-based refreshment yourself? Today we will give you a tasty blend that we love, not only because of its refreshing taste, but it also has a detoxifying effect! It consists of cucumber, lemon and mint (didn’t we highlight mint yesterday? Oh Yes, we did!)
List of Ingredients:
– 2-3 slices of Cucumber
– 2-3 slices of Lemon
– 2-3 Mint leaves
– 1 cup of Water
How to prepare:
Put the slices of cucumber and lemon and the mint leaves in a bottle or glass (in the picture we used a mason jar). Add still or sparkling water, give it a stir and store it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to get a nice cold drink. As mentioned last week with the Redcurrant Fruitwater, the longer the ingredients soak in the water, the more flavor and nutrition you’ll get!
Tip: You can easily replace the lemon with lime for a more subtle taste. Also, add 2 slices of orange if want your detox water to have a sweet flavor.
Minty Fresh Detoxwater Song: Alle Farben ft. Graham Candy – She Moves
Alle Farben’s single She Moves came out in April 2014. It went on to become a huge hit in his home country Germany and we’re positive that it will be an international summer hit pretty soon!
What makes this song so good is the combination of Alle Farben and Graham Candy. The first one is a DJ and producer from Berlin who’s getting more and more attention for his serious dj skills. The other one is an actor (The Chronicles of Narnia, Queen of Carthage) who moved to Berlin in 2013 to pursue a music career. Their collaboration resulted into a feel good song that is just perfect for the summer! Even though we love the original dance version of She Moves, Graham Candy recently perfumed an acoustic version of the song which we had to share! Enjoy!
