- A glass of pomegranate juice has more antioxidants than red wine, green tea, blueberries, and cranberries
- A compound found only in pomegranates called punicalagin is shown to benefit the heart and blood vessels. It is known to lower cholesterol, but also lowers blood pressure
- Pomegranates contain three types of antioxidant polyphenols, including tannins, anthocyanins, and ellagic acid, which provide your cells with the ability to protect themselves from free radicals
Tip: Select pomegranates by weight, not by color
Tip: An easy and quick way to remove the seeds, is to cut the fruit in half, hold one half over a plate/bowl and tap the fruit with a wooden spoon
