Smoothie Company

I was in The Hague the other weekend for some much needed R&R with a friend. I had not been for ages, but it really struck me how beautiful and fun this city actually is. It’s a great place to visit for some cultural sightseeing, good shopping, wining and dining and just walking around makes you encounter the most impressive authentic Dutch buildings. In short, I would definitely recommend visiting The Hague, but let’s get back to the main objective for me writing this post! After a night on the town, the following day we craved a good dose of vitamins and so we strolled over to Smoothie Company in the Venestraat (2a), which is perfectly located in the city centre.

Going here is a real treat for juice and smoothie lovers and it took me over 5 minutes to decide which juice I was going to have (incl. the slight hesitation in the back of my mind whether I would rather go for a smoothie). You even have extra options where you can add superfoods, protein, coconut water or nuts!! Sigh….too difficult! In the end I chose the Anti-Oxidiser, which consisted out of Acai berry, banana, Apple and Orange and it was exactly what I needed. So refreshing and it kicked me right out that 3 o’clock low and I was all set to do a second round of shopping!

Smoothie Company was founded by the two brothers Robert and Micky Bijl with a clear vision to bring healthy lifestyle to the Dutch consumers. The concept is more elaborate, with not only healthy drinks, but includes sandwiches and soups and I even spotted some nice brownies on the counter. You can find Smoothie Company in five locations in The Netherlands. Have a look at their website for more info on their products and where to find them! Bonus fact: They are open 7 days a week, so no excuses to not get your fruit and veggie fix!
