TFE Music Playlist September 2015

It’s been awhile since we posted an article about one of our TFE Music Playlists. Of course we do have our smoothie songs but we somehow seems to forget to put them all together in a monthly music playlist and on a regular basis. Plus, you’ll see that the playlist of September only consists of 4 songs. It was a month of sharing a few smoothie songs but writing more about different subjets, such as the benefits of running and our experience at the Kadepop Festival. However, the songs we did share with you are awesome and it’s great fun to listen to them again!

1) The Pear Jam Smoothie Song: The London Souls – When I’m With You

The London Souls have been around since 2008, known for their energetic performances in the underground New York club scene. This year it was time for them to cross the ocean with their rock/jazz/soul sound and thankfully they did. When I’m With You is one of the tracks of their latest album Here Come The Girls and is a definite a must-hear!

2) The Matcha Almond Latte Song: Alessia Cara – Four Pink Walls

Since I already did this long intro for today’s drink, we just want you to listen and take in the sweet sound of Alessia Cara. The next big thing, compared to Lorde and she got critics raving about her. She released her first EP Four Pink Walls last month with her debut single Here, but we think you should hear all her work, behold Four Pink Walls. Just so cool…

3) The Limelight Soda Song: Larkin Poe – Stubborn Love

This sister duo from Atlanta, U.S. with their cool style was voted Glastonbury’s Discovery in 2014 and they did their fair share of touring ever since. After a series of EP’s Larking Poe released their album KIN. They describe it as their ‘coming of age’ album, which basically reflects who they are and have become developing their musical style together over the years. Stubborn Love just adds that perfect vibe to a well deserved weekend!

Trivia*: Loved The New Basement Tapes’s Lost On The River? Larkin Poe contributed harmonies and instrumentations alongside Marcus Mumford and Elvis Costello

4) The 20/20 Juice Song: The Staves – Teeth White

This song caught my ear a while ago and has been one of my favorites lately, especially in the morning when I can’t seem to get a move on. The Staves is a UK folk rock band that consists out of three sisters. They were support act for Bon Iver and Florence and the Machine during their tours and performed at Glastonbury 2015. Their second album If I was was released last March (produced by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver) and Teeth White is one of many great tracks. A start to a perfect day!
